Riders raced counterclockwise Sunday at the second crit of the year in Avondale, Ariz.
Tyler Stites (Aevolo) took the win for the Men’s Pro 1/2 after he and six others lapped the field. Caitlin Conyers, who said she is from Bermuda and staying in Tucson, Ariz. for training, also lapped the field for the victory in the Women’s Pro 1/2/3 race.
In beginners fields, the bike racing career of Sarah Mennow of Peoria, Ariz. is looking like it’s off to a good start. She crossed the line first in the Women’s Cat 5 group, up from her second place finish the week before. James Threadgill (Bicycle Ranch Tucson Racing) managed to get his second win of the year, sweeping Avondale crits for the Cat 5 Men.
