Trudeau: ‘Level of talent insane’
Tuscon’s Kyle Trudeau (CZ Racing) took 23rd in the men’s pro cross country race and squeezed his way into the top 30 in short track.
Trudeau has been racing pro for 10 months, but this was only his second HC event – the highest classification a race can be without being a World Cup event.
“The level of talent for the cross country and short track race was insane, and the atmosphere that Sea Otter has just added to the excitement,” Trudeau said. “The pro short track and cross country went pretty well for me. I had pretty sh*tty starting positions in both races but was able to work forward in both races, earning 29th in short track and 23rd in cross country, which I’m super pumped about.”
Gould top of standings, Woodruff wins short track
The women’s race also came down to the top three riders finishing within a second of each other, as Gould took second in the race in 1:10:42 and overtook the top women’s spot with 170 points.

In the short track pro competition, Prescott’s Chloe Woodruff (Stan’s No Tubes-Pivot) climbed to the top of the podium ahead of Gould and her teammate Katerina Nash.
Woodruff took ninth in the cross-country race and is sitting in fifth place in the Pro XCT standings.
