Athletes from the U.S., Colombia, Mexico, Canada and England, delivered a united message, urging cyclists to ride solo, or with their household members, so we can all do our part in flattening the curve.
“As we support each other during this difficult time, we wanted to provide a compilation of messages from female cyclists and teams, urging people to connect virtually while staying focused on their goals,” said Lucy Diaz, CEO of Colorado Classic. “Although these riders’ seasons have been postponed we are encouraged that they are doing their part in staying healthy and empowering one another to ride on.”
The racing season came to a grinding halt at the onset of the pandemic, and the UCI has suspended racing until July 1.
The pro racers are urging the cycling community to its part in flattening the curve, slowing the spread of the coronavirus and adhering to social distancing measures. This means riding alone and not taking unnecessary risks.
