Riders tackled one of the toughest road races in the state Saturday at Hillside, near Bagdad, Ariz.
Kyle Reedy (Jetset Racing) took the win for the Men Pro/1/2 category and Sally Aston (Bicycle Haus Racing) took the top spot for the women’s Pro 1/2 category, with Rachel Holzer (MadDog Racing) winning the field and taking first in the Women’s 3 category.
Reedy said his motivation was to get the top spot after a weekend of second-place finishes and to test his form before the upcoming Epic Rides Whiskey 50.
“We had a small field so it felt like we were in a breakaway all day until the final climb, then I attacked and hoped for the best, and by ‘best,’ I mean not second,” Reedy said.
