Course
This is a fun, 6 corner course near downtown Charlottesville. There is one uphill kicker halfway through the course with a chicane at the top; and the finishing straight is on a wide 3% uphill drag. There are definitely attack points on this course with the opportunity to make the race exciting!
The course is located within a vibrant commercial and residential district that includes three nearby breweries, a German-style beer hall, bakeries, coffee shops, and a wide variety of restaurants, particularly at the Dairy Market. The event will kick off at 10 AM with a series of free junior races for boys and girls in the 9-14 and 15-18 age groups. At noon will be a Bike Parade where anyone in the community with a bicycle can join and ride a lap on the closed course, in addition to a “Dash Race” for younger children.
Our aim is not only to bring a series of high-quality bike races to Charlottesville, but also fundraise for the local non-profit bicycle shop, Charlottesville Community Bikes. Charlottesville Community Bikes (CCB) promotes environmentally-sound transportation, recycles bicycles, and makes biking accessible to the local community. CCB believes equitable access to affordable, reliable bike transportation can be transformative to people in need.
