2nd ANNUAL CCAP BENEFIT BIKE TOUR

Blue Ridge Bicycles, Winchester Wheelmen and Element Sports are excited to present a ride through the beautiful countryside of Northern Shenandoah Valley.  The scenic ride starts in Winchester on the campus of Valley Health at the Wellness Center and rolls through Frederick County, VA taking in the breathtaking views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and scenic country landscapes. This is a self-paced ride for everyone from the recreational to the serious cyclist.

You pick your route from distances of:     6.2 miles  –  30 miles  –  50 miles  –  70 miles  

All routes will start and finish at the Valley Health Wellness Center located at 401 Campus Blvd, Winchester, VA 22601. 

 

 

 

You have 4 distances to choose from all starting from Valley Health Wellness Center.

 

 

 6.2 MILE ROUTE (Early Bird Pricing if you register prior to June   1)

Family Ride on the beautiful grounds of the Glen Burnie Estate and Museum of Shenandoah Valley (MSV). All riders who choose this route will receive a Free Day Pass to the museum and grounds.

30 MILE OR 50 MILE ROUTE (Early Bird Pricing if you register prior to June 1)

Choose either route and ride through the scenic Frederick County with rest stops at mile 15 & 30.

 70 MILE ROUTE (Early Bird Pricing if you register prior to June 1)

  This route goes through scenic Frederick County and Shenandoah Valley     with a Motorcycle Escort by Virginia State Troopers for those who are   chasing that personal best!

All proceeds from this bike tour will go the Congregational Community Action Project (CCAP) making this more that just a one-day bike tour but also an inspirational event where each cyclist's participation has an impact on the community of Winchester and Frederick County, VA.

This will be our 2nd Annual Benefit Bike Tour Event!  Last year was such a success that our hope is to make this a premier cycling event for our area providing not only our community need, but also a lasting experience for all levels of cyclist.  This is a rain or shine event and SPACE is LIMITED so reserve your spot TODAY.

Do I have to sign in before the bike tour?

Yes – it helps us keep count!

Do we have to check in after the bike tour?

Yes! Would appreciate this so we will know all riders are in and don't forget your swag bag!

Are the routes marked?

Yes! Same color as the cue sheet – you can check the routes "over there"

– 6.2 mile route – White

– 30 mile route – Green

– 50 mile route – Yellow

– 70 mile route – Blue

What are the start times for each route?

8:00 AM for 30/50/70 mile routes

8:15 AM for 6.2 mile Family Ride

Are there restrooms at rest stops?

Yes! There will be relief locations located at the Fisher's Hill rest stop and Richard's Fruit Market rest stop.

What's in the Swag Bag?

It is a surprise!

When and where do I get my T-shirt?

At the time you pick up your Swag Bag upon checking in after your ride.

My t-shirt does not fit, can I exchange it?

We are not sure if we have any extras, please check back with us at the end of the event or contact Anrea Cosans ccapexdir@gmailcom.

Can I buy an additional t-shirt for my friend?

No, unfortunately they will not be available to order.

What kind of refreshments will be at the rest stops?

Please see poster on the sandwich board at start of ride.

Are you serving food after the bike tour?

YES! There will be Maddie's Ice Cream and Bam Bam's BBQ – vouchers will be in your swag bags.

How long will the Food Trucks be there?

They will be on hand from 10 AM – 3 PM

How do I get back on the right "color" route from Richard's Fruit Market rest stop?

There are signs at the exit of the rest stop to follow.

I have a mechanical problem with my bike – can I call someone for help?

There will be mechanics at the first rest stop = or you can call SAG 540-664-6143

Could someone please pick me up? I am not feeling well.

What is your bad weather policy?

This is a RAIN or SHINE event. In case of thunder or lightning we strongly recommend everyone seek appropriate shelter immediately.
