Cyclocross state champions crowned

The Arizona cyclocross season finished off with the state championship Sunday during another gorgeous day at Crossroads Park in Gilbert.

Kyle Reedy (Jetset Racing), the reigning series champion, added the state championship to his collection with a win in the men’s open. Caleb Thompson (Colavita Southwest) out of Colorado won the field, but his victory didn’t count toward the state title.

Arizona pro Chloe Woodruff (Stan’s No Tubes Elite Cyclocross) landed on the men’s podium in fourth; she entered the men’s open as a practice run for her upcoming trip to cyclocross nationals in January in Austin, Texas.

Amy Chandos (Northern Arizona University) took both the women’s open and 3/4 championships on her mountain bike, with Sue Rawley (Absolute Bikes) coming in second in the women’s open and Emily Brown (US Military) taking the second spot in women’s 3/4.
