What looked like a morning that could be plagued by rain turned into pleasant temperatures and a dry course in Arizona City as riders took on the first Cotton Classic time trial of the year.
Riders chose distances of 20 and/or 32 kilometers; 40-kilometer course was cut short due to construction.
The 20k riders faced a headwind on the way out and a tailwind on the way back. The 40k participants faced a headwind going out but also suffered through a headwind on the way back as the air flow shifted.
