Mara Abbott (Amy D. Foundation) finished off her May 4-8 Tour of the Gila win on Sunday in Silver City, N.M., to take the women’s 2016 Pro Road Tour standings lead.
Abbott opens the month of May atop of the women’s standings with 293 points after to two road race wins and a time trial silver en route to the red jersey.
Neilson Powless (Axeon-Hagens Berman) holds his men’s standings lead with 298 points following two top-three stage finishes at the event.
UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling retained its women’s team lead with 528 points thanks to three top-10 general classification finishes in Silver City, while Team Jamis again leads the men’s team standings with 460 points thanks to two stage podium finishes on the week.
